# CodeVue FAQ

**Q: Which coding language should I use?**

**A:** The company that you are applying to determines the language they would like the challenge completed in. In the introduction of your interview, after the ‘Begin’ page, you will either be presented with a drop down menu of languages that are available for the challenge, or be shown which language to complete the challenge in.

**Q: What devices can I use to complete my CodeVue?**

**A:** Devices with following operating systems:

- OS X 10.12+
- Windows 7
- Windows 10+

*Please be aware that CodeVue is not currently supported on mobile devices*

**Q: What is the due date of my CodeVue**

**A:** Your due date, if you have one, should be included in your invitation email. If there is not one shown there, we recommend completing your assessment within 48 hours of receiving the invitation, or as soon as possible.

**Q: I want to retake my CodeVue assessment**

**A:** If you would like to retake your assessment, you will need to reach out to the company that you completed the CodeVue for, as they will be the ones to determine if a retake is necessary or possible.

**Q: Where can I practice for my CodeVue challenge**

**A:** After clicking ‘Begin’ in the interview setup, you will be presented with the option to Practice or Start Challenge

## How to complete a CodeVue code challenge assessment

This guide walks through the typical end-to-end process of accessing and completing a CodeVue code challenge, from signing in to testing your solution.

The exact screens can vary by hiring company, but the overall flow is typically the same.

1. Open the invitation link and sign in using the email address that received the invitation (and the password for the assessment, if required).
2. Proceed through any initial **Get Set Up** / device and system check screens, then select **Next** (or **Continue**) to proceed.
3. You may be brought to an interview/assessment foyer or welcome page.
4. If you are prompted to set a password for the session, enter it in **Password** and **Confirm New Password**, then select **Set Password**.
5. If a consent form for data collection and processing appears, review it and select **Accept** to continue.
6. On the code challenge instructions page (for example, **Interview Questions** or **Code Challenge**), review the instructions, challenge type (if shown), and time limit.
7. Find the **Programming Language** drop-down (if shown), and select the programming language to use for the challenge (if prompted).
8. Select **Start Challenge** to open the coding environment (IDE).
9. Review the challenge prompt/problem description and write your solution in the code editor.
   - The editor may be pre-filled with boilerplate/starter code.
   - A panel may show test cases and your results/output.
10. (If available) select **Run Test Cases** to check your solution against the provided scenarios and expected outputs.
11. Review the test results/output to confirm your solution passes before final submission.
12. When you are ready to submit your work for that question, select **Submit Final Answer**.
13. If there are multiple questions, repeat steps 8–12 for each question.
14. If an optional feedback prompt appears, enter comments (optional) and select **Submit**.
15. After you finish all questions, you may be taken to a **Review & Submit** page. Confirm all sections/questions are marked complete.
16. Select **Submit** to finalize the assessment. This submission is final and can’t be undone.
17. Look for an on-screen confirmation message indicating your submission is complete.
